Will and I are getting ready to head out of town for P’s and G’s Student Weekend Away! We’re really excited about it for a few reasons:
1) I love retreats! I’m excited to have a weekend to really think. There’s so much twirling around in my head that this weekend couldn’t come at a more perfect time to really clear things out and hear God’s gentle whisper amidst everything.
2) We were really involved in eighteen22, WEAG’s college ministry back in Richmond, and are excited to get back into serving college students again.
3) This is mine and Will’s 1st time travelling within Scotland (granted it’s not that far, but still.)
” ‘Go out and stand before me on the mountain’, the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. When Elijah HEARD IT, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?’ “.
1 Kings 19:11-13 (NLT)
I leave you with one of my favorite Lianne La Havas songs, “No Room for Doubt. I love her voice!
