hollywood cemetery

this week i went to hollywood cemetery. it opened in 1849 and got it’s name from the holly trees that lined the property (formerly known as “harvie’s woods”). it’s the resting place of 2 united states presidents (james monroe and john tyler), 25 confederate generals, and the only confederate states president (jefferson davis). there are a lot of legends and stories and myths about the cemetery, but there’s also a lot of inspiration. it’s right next to the james river and overlooks the city and is so vast. i know that the pictures i took don’t do it justice but i’m starting to see where i’m falling short and what i need to work on. but here are some shots i took while walking around.
